Basic Tactics
The Fork - Introduction
A “fork” is essentially when a single piece attacks two
or more enemy pieces at the same time. Some people also use the term “double
attack” to describe this. Other people think of the fork as just one type of
double attack. However, it doesn’t really matter for our purposes right now.
We’ll discuss these finer distinctions in a later lesson. For now, let’s
just call it a “fork.”
